BreaCan is the culmination of the vision, expertise and dedication of a varied group of people. In a respectful partnership staff, volunteers and advisers work together acknowledging the unique and valuable contribution each makes to the service. BreaCan has an advisory group to provide advice, guidance and support, as well as being governed by the board of Women’s Health Victoria.

Dianne Hill joined the BreaCan team as Manager in October 2016. Dianne brings a wealth of expertise as a senior manager and has extensive experience in the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services in the health and human services sectors. She is responsible for the management of staff, the implementation of the Strategic Plan and service development. Dianne is part of the Women’s Health Victoria management team and promotes the BreaCan service through building strong relationships with external stakeholders.
Team Leader, BreaCan Programs
Fiona joined BreaCan in October 2008. Fiona’s role involves the planning and coordination of all BreaCan programs and services. She manages the BreaCan Programs team and is responsible for coordinating BreaCan’s work in regional areas.
Programs and Programming Coordinator
Wendy joined BreaCan in October 2008. Wendy works primarily in the Resource Centre alongside the BreaCan peer support volunteers. Her role involves providing information and support to service users. Part of Wendy’s role is to coordinate support for women living with advanced cancer and to plan the What’s On program of events.
Kellie joined BreaCan in November 2011. She coordinates the volunteering program, from recruitment and training of volunteers, including the trained peer support volunteers, to providing ongoing support and coordination. Her role also involves facilitating consumer participation and maintaining BreaCan’s resource library.
She also works in the Resource Centre along side BreaCan peer support volunteers.
Programs and Resources Coordinator
Linda began at BreaCan in May 2015. She is responsible for the BreaCan resource library and ongoing maintenance and further development of the BreaCan Information Navigators. She also works in the Resource Centre alongside the BreaCan peer support volunteers, providing information and support to service users.
In September 2015, we were very pleased to appoint Robin as Project Manager. She previously worked at BreaCan as a Programs Officer from 2012 to 2013. In her new role she is responsible for managing all aspects of the Bridge of Support pilot project at Sunshine Hospital. This program will launch in 2016, and will offer peer support to women in the western suburbs with breast cancer after diagnosis, during treatment and beyond.
Acting Communications Coordinator
Katherine began at BreaCan in September 2008 as our Administration Officer. As Communications Coordinator since October 2015, her responsibilities include the development and implementation of the BreaCan communications plan, including the production and publication of communication materials. Katherine is also responsible for our online communications strategy and development of the BreaCan website.
Brooke joined the BreaCan team in October 2015 on a 6 month contract. She is responsible for providing organisational support to staff, maintaining office systems and coordinating regular mail outs. Brooke also maintains service use data and co-ordinates records management and filing.
