BreaCan is a women-centred, holistic service which recognises that every woman's cancer experience is different and each will prefer to access and use BreaCan's services in her own way.

BreaCan provides:

• Face-to-face information and support on a drop-in basis; no appointments are necessary. Women, friends and family can simply visit the Resource Centre and talk about their experience confidentially to staff and trained volunteers.

• Telephone support and information via the 1300 781 500 number. People can also email us.

• An extensive library of over 300 cataloged items including books, CDs and DVDs.

• A selection of free pamphlets and journal articles.

• A diverse range of free information sessions and group programs, including a fortnightly Feel Good Gentle Exercise Program.

• Free reflexology sessions.

• A display cabinet containing a wide variety of breast forms (prostheses), bras and accessories.

• Specialised information and support for women living with advanced cancer.

• One off projects and initiatives including regional information forums, creative therapy workshops and bus trips to the resource centre for women from rural and regional Victoria.

• Referral to local support and community organisations.

BreaCan gave me the help that no-one else was able to give me and in doing so allowed me to take control of my life.
