Feel Good Gentle Exercise Program
The Feel Good Exercise Program offers gentle exercise to tone the body and help the lymphatic system. Conducted by a qualified instructor, the sessions are held fortnightly on a Wednesday from 10.30am-11.30am.
Women need to register and complete enrolment forms prior to attending. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the program or receive an enrolment form.
Peer support volunteer Pam explains her first Feel Good Gentle Exercise experience:
“I went along to the Feel Good Exercise program for quite a while. I started just after I’d had radiotherapy and I can remember my first session, I was a bit nervous and didn’t know anyone. We had to do some stretching; lifting up our arms and of course after the surgery, one of my arms was very stiff. So I put my arms up and one was at least 6 inches shorter that the other, in terms of the stretch. I looked around the room and a lot of the other women had their arms fully extended and I thought, ‘It’s me’ and I started crying. Then Judy, who’s just fantastic, the instructor, came over and said, ‘Don’t worry, you’re going to be stretching fully in three months time or I’ll have something to say’. She made us laugh and that was the best medicine of all.”
