Information Sessions
BreaCan conducts free information sessions on a regular basis. Coming to an information session is a great way to access information and meet other women in a similiar situation.
Information sessions are co-ordinated by BreaCan staff and involve medical, allied health and other specialists, including creative therapists and meditation teachers. Sessions are generally held at the Resource Centre and are designed to respond to requests for information from women who have used the service. Sessions are a mix of clinical/medical, general health and wellbeing topics. Partners, friends and families of women are welcome to attend.
Some information sessions are specifically run for women living with a gynaecological cancer or women affected by advanced cancer. Generally, most sessions are open to all. You can download a copy of the current program of events HERE, or click of a specific event to the right.
A woman who attended a session on breast reconstruction said:
“I was able to come along and hear the most up to date information about the latest options and developments from a reputable plastic surgeon and it was free. It was better than having an individual consultation because I got to hear other women’s questions as well, which I wouldn’t have thought about asking.”
