Lifepool is a project established to collect data and samples to support research into breast cancer and other significant women’s health issues. The project involves a large cohort of Australian women, and is funded by the National Breast Cancer Foundation. A major focus of lifepool research is to better understand the subtle interactions between many factors that contribute to an individual’s risk of developing breast cancer. This session will describe how and why the lifepool project was established, the information it collects and describe some of the research projects currently underway using lifepool resources. The manager of lifepool, Lisa Devereux will present this session.
